Spacing Considerations
SPACING – CONSIDERATIONS
Shrubs/Hedge materials are most often spaced at 2 foot intervals. Other focal plants and standards are layered based on staggered heights and can be offset in odd numbers. For ground cover, 1 foot or less spacing is recommended when looking to fill an area. This being said, several factors should first be considered when installing materials. For example, each the following should be reviewed: the mature size of the plant, distances from walkways and walls, sun and soil considerations, grading, will trimming will be a regular function? As is common with most everything, personal preference in landscape is priority one. Thriving landscapes with memorable presence are those that have proper spacing and quantity, the right material, and good planning.
